About

"There are always other ways of saying, doing or being..."

With a bachelor’s degree in Translation, a master’s degree in Communication, and a degree in International Journalism, I am Angolan, a communicator, writer, and speaker.

I launched the first podcast dedicated to Black people of African descent in Portugal, Rádio Afrolis,, which won an award from the Google News Initiative in 2022. I am the author of the talk “Being a Black Woman in Lisbon”, presented at TEDxLisboa 2015. I organized and co-authored the poetry anthology “Djidiu: The Legacy of the Ear—Twelve Plus One Ways to Talk About the Black Experience in Lisbon” (2018). I wrote the radio drama “It Takes a Village” (2018), produced by the German radio station Deutsche Welle, where I worked for five years and completed a training program in International Journalism. I am the official translator in Portugal of Amanda Gorman’s works The Hill We Climb, Change Sings, and Calls Us What We Carry. The children’s books Uma Visita Inesperada (2022) and E Tudo Mudou 2025) were my first projects for young readers. In 2024, I premiered the documentary Nós Não Viemos do Vazio (2024).

All my productions and participation in professional projects have revealed to me the importance of looking at reality multiple times and reconsidering it through different lenses and formats. It is in this exercise that I find ways to recognize authenticity and empathy in human interactions. My enthusiasm and curiosity for human potential expands with each new approach and it is this perspective that I aspire to share through my work.
